The Adam Road Primary School (ARPS) Board plays an important part in supporting members of the school community (families and staff) to meaningfully engage as strong partners in activities that benefit students. These activities include the establishment, evaluation and review of school objectives, priorities and strategic direction.
The ARPS Board is comprised of the principal, parents, staff and local community representatives. Members meet at least once per term to support the school in working towards its goals for the benefit of students. Members volunteer their time and energy to contribute to the success of ARPS.
School Boards are bound by legislation, Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct, and fulfil both compliance and performance obligations. They play a significant role in school governance, which seeks to ensure that school priorities effectively respond to the changing needs of ARPS students. Members provide perspectives to reflect the school context. They also approve booklists and fees and charges, participate in the review of school policies and promote the school in the wider community.
The School Business Plan is created in collaboration with the Board and is utilised throughout each school year to evaluate progress towards goals. The Board monitors how strategies are being implemented and objectives are being achieved. Discussions are respectful and robust and aim to provide feedback, challenge and test decisions, help identify areas of improvement and foster a positive culture of connected community.
The ARPS Board provides the school community with a meaningful way to engage with ARPS in purposeful partnership that serves the needs of students on the Road to Success.
