Annual Events

Book Week Adam Road Primary School celebrates Book Week annually by holding a range of book related activities throughout the week, including a dress up day where staff and children are encouraged to dress up as a book character related to the current theme for Book Week.

Easter Parade The Easter parade is an annual event where children are encouraged to make an Easter bonnet and march in the parade with their class members.

ANZAC Service Adam Road Primary School commemorates ANZAC Day with an ANZAC service to remember the courage and sacrifice of those that have fought and died in war. Each class participates by making a wreath that is laid during the ceremony and the school choir sings. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend the ANZAC service.

Family Picnics The school encourages family members to come to the school several times a year and have a picnic with their child/children during lunch time. This is a great opportunity for parents to spend time with their children and to meet the parents of their child’s friends.

Cross-Country The school, district and state cross-country competitions are usually held in Term Two and Three annually. Students are encouraged through regular training sessions to develop strength and stamina in the lead-up to the events.

Swimming Lessons Swimming lessons are a vital part of our physical education and health and safety programs. All students participate in swimming lessons annually. These are organised by the school and are held at the South-West Sports Centre.

Athletics Carnival The school athletic carnival is held annually in Term Three. All students train for a wide range of sporting activities and participate in a running race and team event/s on the carnival day. Students may then be selected to participate in the Interschool Athletics Carnival.

Swimming Carnival All students from Years 4 to 6 participate in the Adam Road Primary School swimming carnival which is held annually in term one. The carnival encourages students to develop confidence in swimming, have fun and learn about water safety.
