Curriculum

Adam Road Primary School offers a comprehensive learning program, encompassing all aspects of the Western Australian Curriculum. Our major focus is on all students developing effective literacy and numeracy skills This is supported by additional school based programs to cater for the needs and interests of our students.

A literacy progression is used across Kindergarten and Pre-primary which ensures a sequential and developmental approach to building early literacy skills. We implement Sound Waves as a whole school approach (PP-year 6) for spelling.  School plans in English and Maths outline other whole school approaches used at our school.

In an increasingly technological world, it is important students learn how to effectively and appropriately use ICT. Learning necessary skills and creating with technologies is developed through various means at Adam Road Primary School. Devices used to support learning include laptops, desktops and iPads. Our school has a BYO iPad program for Years 4-6 students. These students have the opportunity to bring their own iPad to school daily and use it as a tool to enhance their learning in the classroom and specialist areas.

We are a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) School. PBS focuses on teaching the behaviours that demonstrate our values of Tolerance, Resilience, Respect, Endeavour, and Responsibility. Values awards are integral to promoting and acknowledging expected behaviours.
